2024 Year in Books

Authors

Continuing in the habit of posting my books for the prior year, here is an overview of what I was able to read over the last year.

As with last year, here is my year in books for 2025.

I completed the Expanse series at the beginning of the year and it did not fail to disappoint. I still haven’t finished the TV series, but that has more to do with my TV habits than my reading. If you enjoy science fiction, then I can strongly encourage any of the Expanse books.

My summer was pretty slow as far as reading goes, but I got back in over the fall, but with a more theological bent. After some NT Wright, I got over to C.S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy. I’ve read Chronicles of Narnia before as well as some of Lewis’s non-fiction, but I still was surprised by these books… I expected more sci-fi I guess. I definitely enjoyed them, but each book is drastically different from the prior book. Out of the Silent Planet is the most sci-fi of any of them, but it feels more like Journey to the Center of the Earth or similar. Perelandra was far more dialogue than I expected. And then That Hideous Strength is entirely different again.
